Why Physician Prefers?
Parsial; It is preferred when the number of teeth present in the mouth or the position of the teeth is not sufficient to make a fixed bridge prosthesis. These prostheses, which come into play when fixed prostheses cannot be applied, can be removed by the patient. It is also possible to reinsert them after cleaning and maintenance. We can say that these prostheses, which are supported by the teeth present in the mouth with the help of hooks, are also widely used.
Why Should I Use a 3D Printer?
- The ready availability and ease of use of the CAD program makes it easy to edit and redesign the file received from the 3D printer.
- Highly accurate and reliable 3D printers ensure accurate and reliable reproduction of the data received and processed from the scanner.
- The variety of materials provided for different dental applications increases the range and variety of applications.
Scanning and Design
As in all other processes, when planning the skeleton, we must first have a digital measurement of the working model.
First, the skeleton process is selected on the scanned and digitized model, and the teeth to be treated are selected.
The area to be skeletonized is selected on the working model and the necessary boundaries are determined.
The most important part of the scanning part, the location of the major holes, is determined and a sketch of the skeleton is obtained.
Tissue supports are determined. At the same time as the tissue supports, the clasps that will hold on to the intact teeth are determined. The height of the clasps is very important. The appropriate morphology of the clasps is determined so that they can be well attached to the intact tooth.
The most important problem we encounter in skeleton applications is the 'unbalance' of the skeleton after it is placed on the palate. In order to eliminate this situation, a thick bar is drawn in between and provides a definitive solution to the shrinkage of the model after casting or printing.
Finally, the generated skeleton data is saved.
Printing and Application
Print Preparation
When preparing skeleton models for printing, the issues to be considered in the support section are as follows;
It is very critical not to support the points of the model that touch the palate tissue. Printing can be done by positioning horizontally or vertically. When printing vertically, much more skeleton data can be printed, while the printing time is longer.
Print Settings
As is known, casting resins are preferred for skeleton uses. Please visit our profile article to find casting resin settings.
Post-Process
Allow the model to clean compartment 1 of the MEDIFIVE washer with ethanol solution (96%) for 3 minutes. After completion, dry the model with a spray air gun.
Allow the model washed and dried in the first chamber to be cleaned in the second chamber of the MEDIFIVE washer containing ethanol solution (96%) for 3 minutes. After completion, dry the model with a spray air gun.
Do not exceed a total cleaning procedure of 6 minutes as this may cause printed objects to deteriorate.
Tip: Resin residues can also be removed using a brush moistened with ethanol (96%).
Important Note: PowerResins Burn resin does not require extra UV curing.
Casting
There are special revetments recommended by manufacturers for skeleton casting. The difference from normal revetments is that it is much easier to separate from the duplicate model. It is very important that it has sufficient hardness.
As shared in the image, the casting process is realized by connecting the rods.
For casting, after attaching your model to the cuff and connecting it to the revetment, raise your oven directly to 930 degrees. Then wait 35 minutes at this temperature. Then perform the metal casting process.
