Why does the physician prefer it?
Total prosthesis can be made to restore chewing function in patients with complete edentulism, in patients who have no support teeth to make a bridge at the back of the jaw and in jaws that end without teeth, in patients with tooth-ending teeth and insufficient bone to make implants, in patients who do not want to have their missing teeth treated with bridges or implants.
Why use a 3D printer?
Compared to traditional methods, we can obtain the final product of removable total prosthesis 2-3 times faster with the 3D Printer method.
Thanks to the software in the design services and 3D printers in digital dentistry processes, we can create much more precise products in removable total prosthesis applications compared to traditional methods.
In terms of unit product, products produced with a 3D printer can be produced at a lower cost compared to traditional methods.
Process Planning
The working model obtained from the digital scan data is designed on the movable total prosthesis working model in Exocad or similar design programs and made ready for 3D printing in STL format.
Printing and Post Process
Positioning
In Total Denture or Partial Denture applications, both surfaces of the impression must be positioned in a position that can provide vertical support from the border lines, as they are important for the user.
In denture base prints, it should be supported from the border areas by placing it between 45-60 degrees with the table to be supported from the back area.
Support Settings
The area of the model to be supported must be the boundary line. The support diameter should be minimum 0.30 mm.
Cleaning and Curing
After printing, the product is washed with ethyl alcohol, completely removed from the alcohol with an air compressor and cured in a curing device for 30 minutes.
Final Process
Existing supports are removed from the model and sharp areas are leveled. Then polishing and polishing processes are applied. When the denture is ready, a set of teeth or teeth printed from the temporary resin are bonded using acrylic adhesive and applied to the patient.
